Great Day, Lykkers! Contour is one of those makeup steps I used to skip because I thought it was too complicated. But after finding the right products, adding a little definition to my face became surprisingly easy.
This time, I compared two contour favorites with completely different formulas—one is a classic powder, while the other comes as a creamy balm.

Too Cool for School Artclass by Rodin Shading

Whenever I want a natural-looking contour, this palette is usually the first one I reach for. The three shades can be mixed together or used separately, so it's easy to customize the depth depending on the makeup look I'm going for. The powder is finely milled, which means it blends smoothly without creating harsh lines. Even if I accidentally apply a little too much, it's forgiving enough to diffuse with just a few strokes of a brush. The result is subtle definition that looks like real shadows rather than obvious contour.

Somethinc Clay Sculptor Bronzer & Contour Balm

Cream contour always sounded intimidating to me, but this balm completely changed my mind. It has a soft, buttery texture that glides onto the skin without tugging, making blending much easier than I expected. I enjoy using it on days when I want my makeup to have a fresh, skin-like finish. It melts beautifully into foundation and leaves behind natural dimension without looking patchy. A little product goes a long way, so I only need a small amount to sculpt my cheeks and jawline.
These two products serve different purposes, so choosing between them really depends on the look I'm after. If I'm doing quick everyday makeup, the Too Cool for School powder is almost impossible to mess up and always delivers soft, natural contours. On the other hand, when I want a more seamless, glowy complexion, Somethinc's contour balm is the one I happily reach for.
